Real Estate Tax Payment Information

YOUR 2024 COUNTY real estate taxes will be mailed mid-January 2024 . Request for payment of these taxes is hereby made in accordance with Act No 394 of 1945. Failure to receive a real estate tax bill does not excuse or delay payment of taxes or avoids any penalty, interest or charge for such delay (Purdon's Statute 72, Section 5511.7) Make check payable to COUNTY OF NORTHAMPTON.

ADDRESS CHANGES are the taxpayer's responsibility. Please mail address changes separately, to the Assessment office, 669 Washington Street, Easton, PA 18042. Do not write address changes on the bill.

IF PAYING BY MAIL, it is recommended you send your original tax bill and check 7-9 days prior to the due date. If a receipt is needed, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope and both the taxpayer portion of the bill, along with appropriate section of the bill with your payment. Please allow 6-8 weeks for return of receipt. The State of Pennsylvania requires a receipted tax bill if applying for the Pennsylvanian Property Tax Rebate.

 

IF PAID BY A MORTGAGE COMPANY OR BANK, please forward the bills and return envelope to the appropriate firm.

 

ALL COUNTY REAL ESTATE TAXES UNPAID will be turned over to the Tax Claim Bureau for collection at the close of business, January 31, 2025. Payments received after this date will incur additional costs.

 

WHEN CHECKS ARE NOT HONORED UPON PRESENTATION AT THE BANK, the tax will remain unpaid and a $25.00 handling fee will be added to your tax. (Council Resolution No. 100-99).

 

TO AVOID THE LOSS of discount or incurring a penalty, your payment must be made on or before April 1, 2024 or May 31, 2024 respectively. If you mail your payment, your envelope must be postmarked by the post office on or before April 1, 2024 or May 31, 2024.  In order to receive credit in the respective discount or base periods. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE TO THIS POLICY.

 

FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE, The County of Northampton accepts payments at Revenue Locations; 669 Washington Street Easton, PA 18042, 2801 Emrick Blvd. Bethlehem, PA 18020 via in person or drop box and at any Fulton Bank location within Northampton County.

 

THE INSTALLMENT PLAN is provided for your convenience. Pay the EXACT amount indicated for each installment by the corresponding due dates. Incorrect installment payments may cause your property to be ineligible for the installment plan and may result in subsequent payments being penalized. A penalty of 10 % will be added to each full or partial delinquent installment. Please have your envelope postmarked by the post office on or before the respective due dates. No discounts are allowed on the installment plan. Installment payments may not commence after the 1st payment date. Installment payments should be mailed or paid at any of the above locations.
